Held at the Winter Gardens at Blackpool from Sunday 13th of March until Monday 14th March 2011. The NHF International Hairdressing Championships are one of the biggest in the United Kingdom. The show is held over two days with a varierty of demonstrations by hairdressing companys and also hair advice styling techniques from trade associations and industry specialists.
The event its self is a great way to find out more about the hair industry for any one looking to enter into it or training to be a hairdresser. The competition was the center of the film "Blowdry" in 2001 writen by Simon Beaufoy (writer of Slumdog Millionaire) and staring among others Bill Nighy, Josh Hartnett, Natalie Richardson and Alan Rickman the story centers around a Keighley Hair Salon entering into the competition and its trials and tribulations.
This year the show had a mix of exhibitors from scissor resellers to hair salon distribution companies. Some of the products on show included Taiff Dryers a unique salon hair dryer which is designed in Brazil by Taiff. They make a range of three salon professional hair dryers. Hardwearing and robust tyhey are designed to withstand the ridaily rigours of salon use. Whats dirrent about the hair dryer is the ION technology incorporated into it the hair dryer has the ability using ION to open and close the the hairs cuticles.
If you are training in hairdressing the show offers some great bargains to be had from sellers heavily discounted products on show days. It's a great time to buy and stock up on scissors gowns and other equipement just not available at the bargain prices available.
